The Senior Leadership Team is responsible for day-to-day operations, under the guidance of a Board of Trustees, with participation of the Assembly of Overseers.

Ms. Howard, a resident of Etna, most recently was the Vice President of Regional Development for Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Lebanon, and is currently providing healthcare consulting services. Additionally, Ms. Howard is the past Chairman of the New Hampshire Hospital Association, and is a current member of the Board of Trustees of Mt. Ascutney Hospital, Crotched Mountain Foundation and the Society for the Protection of NH Forests. She is the former Chief Executive Officer of Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook.
Chief Financial Officer
A valuable member of the VRH team for nearly 20 years, Jean brings strong accounting and leadership skills to the organization. Responsible for revenue cycle and finances at all levels of VRH, she also serves on the board of the Community Dental Center.
Jocelyn F. Caple, MD, MBA
The newest member of our team, Dr. Caple brings a wealth of leadership and healthcare experience to Valley. She has been President and CEO at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NH, as well as their Medical Director and Chief Medical Officer. A physician leader with extensive experience in healthcare administration and clinical practice, Jocelyn is focused on strengthening organizations at every level, identifying and nurturing talent, and establishing a unified sense of purpose among her teams. She has a BA in Ancient Studies from Smith College, an MBA from the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics at The University of New Hampshire, her Doctorate from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and a Special Fellowship in Cytology and Surgical Pathology; Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency; Chief Resident, The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, OH
Tim has been an HR leader for 20 years, working in both large healthcare systems and critical access hospitals. He earned Bachelor’s of Science is business studies and human resource management at Southern New Hampshire University and his Master’s Degree in business administration from Norwich University.
Patricia Witthaus, CHCIO
A Healthcare Information Technology Professional for more than 20 years and a member of the College of Health Information Management Executives, Patty oversees many of the organization’s strategic HIT initiatives including Healthcare’s Most Wired and HIMSS Analytics leading to improved technology for patient care and business operations. Patty serves on several state and regional boards including the Board of the New Hampshire Health Information Exchange (NHHIO), The New Hampshire Board for Health Information Technology and locally for Pathways of The River Valley.
Beverley is an RN with more than 32 years of health care expereience with 12 of those years at the senior leadership level. Her leadership skills and experience serve as an excellent complement to the VRH Senior Leadership and Clinical Leadership teams. Beverley is passionate about high quality care and advocates to consider what is best for the patient when making decisions. Beverley holds a BSN in Nursing from McGill University in Montreal and a Master of Science in Administration from St. Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont. Beverley is certified in Nursing Administration and is an active member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). Beverley currently resides in Claremont with her husband David and daughter Shauna; their son Matthew resides in Montreal and their other son Michael resides in Enfield Connecticut.
Juliann Barrett, DO
Dr. Barrett came to Valley Regional after serving 12 years in the US Army, where she was Assistant Medical Director at the Grafenwoehr Health Clinic in Germany, and Sexual Assault Medical Director at Fort Drum in Watertown, NY. Dr. Barrett has eight years of post-graduate experience with emphasis on both inpatient and outpatient practice. She has a high degree of experience with outpatient procedures, women’s health, pediatrics and medical acupuncture. In addition, Dr. Barrett has advanced training in acute trauma management, teaching, leadership, and health care administration, and is consistently a leader in patient satisfaction and productivity.
