American Heart Training Center
Valley Regional Hospital’s Education Department is an American Heart Training Center and offers certification in all disciplines of Life Support including Basic CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. These services are not only beneficial to employees of Valley Regional Hosptial but also to local emergency services, other hospitals in the region, and community members in general.
Levels of training
Healthcare Provider Level is for Healthcare Professionals, clinical students and others who want the highest level of certification.
Heartsaver Level is for lay people, such as firefighters, EMTs, and childcare providers.
Friends & Family Level is for individuals who would like to learn CPR, but don’t need certification.
CPR Instructor Course is designed for the CPR provider who wishes to become an instructor. Each candidate must present a current AHA provider course completion card or equivalent card from the Heart and Stoke Foundation of Canada, Military Training Network, or American Red Cross in the program discipline in which he or she wishes to teach. The participant must have the willingness and desire to teach in accordance with the scientific and program guidelines of AHA. Candidates must have a letter from an affiliate/regional or course facility member recommending that the candidate become an instructor.
