X-ray is a form of radiation, which can pass through objects, and create an image, much like a photograph. This simple and painless procedure allows physicians to view bones, organs, or soft tissue anatomy as part of a diagnostic evaluation.  Common types of x-rays include bone, chest, abdominal, and the lower or upper gastrointestinal tract.
