Laboratory Services
Our laboratory offers the following services.
- Phlebotomy - We draw blood from the circulatory system to gather samples for analysis and diagnosis.
- Anatomical/Surgical Pathology - The anatomical pathology laboratory evaluates tissue samples and other specimens in great detail using advanced techniques to detect cancer and other abnormalities.
- Bacteriology - From multiple sources, the micro lab isolates and identifies harmful bacteria and provides antimicrobial susceptibilities to physicians so antibiotic treatment can be properly managed.
- Blood Bank - The Blood Bank stores life-saving blood. We test prenatal, preoperative, or emergent samples to determine blood groups, blood types, and the presence of antibodies. We also cross-match blood to ensure donor and patient compatibility.
- Clinical Chemistry - Blood and body fluids are analyzed for components such as glucose or cholesterol to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. Chemistry also monitors therapeutic drug levels for individualized care.
- Cytology - Cytology includes evaluating pap smears or screening cells from body fluids for abnormalities and/or cancer.
- Hematology/Coagulation - Hematology includes blood cell enumeration and evaluation and the body's ability of blood to clot.
- Histopathology - Specimens and tissues removed during surgery are examined to determine the absence or presence of pathology or cancer.
- Urinalysis - Urinalysis consists of a battery of chemical and microscopic tests to screen for infections and diseases that result in the appearance of abnormal metabolites (break-down products) in the urine.
