What Support Group opportunities are available?
Alzheimer's Support Group
This group provides education and support to family members and caregivers of the Alzheimer's patient. The group meets the second Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in Conference Room #1 of Valley Regional Hospital. Diabetes Education Support Group
The classes provide information on managing adult diabetes and are designed to help diabetics learn and develop the skills of self-management of diabetes therapy. Topics covered in the sessions include the importance of diabetes control and the factors that influence this control, how to plan meals according to food selections and serving size, the possible complications associated with diabetes and why exercise will benefit your health and make you feel good. Workshop speakers include a Certified Diabetes Educator, Registered Dietitian, Registered Nurse, Registered Pharmacist, Exercise Specialist, and Registered Medical Technician. Alcoholics Anonymous
Free meetings for recovering alcoholics. Contact (802) 295-7611 or toll free (800) 346-3126 or www.alcoholics-anonymous.org. Group meets every Monday and Thursday, 6:00-7:00pm; every Friday and Saturday 7:00-8:00pm at Valley Regional Hospital.
Al-Anon

Overeaters Anonymous

What is the VRH Speakers' Bureau?
Through Valley Regional Hospital's Speakers' Bureau, physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals talk issues such as cardiac care, childbirth, current issues in health care, health care careers, hospital services, pediatric/child care issues, weight control issues and more. VRH also coordinates hospital tours and other programs for local organizations. The hospital offers these programs free of charge as a community service.
